My office colleague told me about this legendary place. Nothing special, just a stall selling fried stuff and "Wedang". Quite cheap and enjoyable, but don't ask for the cleanliness.

Nasi Kucing is a packaged rice that is completed with side dishes and everything comes in a small portion. This nasi kucing stall probably the most famous one in Semarang. The food and the drink was ok, nothing special. The place is rather smelly (from the river right in front of it) and dirty (people just literally throw the paper packages anywhere they like). Everything is so cheap here. Maybe that is why this place is very popular. So many people there. It is located not too far from Simpang Lima. It was a good experience eating here.

Cheap affordable supper. Open at 11pm. Must try : Nasi Gurih and Pia Pia. Less than $1 spending here.

Legendary culinary in Semarang, has a unique vibe in itself that has been preserved for decades. Location near the heart of Semarang, Simpang Lima.
Serves variety of food in small packs/sizes. If you have a friend or family in semarang, you can even ask rheir grandpa/grandma about this place. It used to be a very popular hanging place at midnight in Semarang.

Best of the best nasi kucing in Semarang. You can eat as much as you want, and you will be surprised about the prices. Even the location beside the smelly river and in the dark place, still there are a lot of people who came here in the middle of the night just to eat in this place. You must try tahu kakap and pangsit goreng , you will love it at the first time
