In short: if your daily budget ranges from IDR 600k to IDR 2mio, SKIP this hotel or any Louis Kienne / Pollux (PO) hotel group.
[Jika bujet Anda Rp 600rb s/d Rp 2jt, JANGAN ke hotel ini atau yang termasuk jaringan Louis Kienne / Pollux (PO)]
I stayed for two nights. On Sunday Jul 3rd 2022, the price offered at the receptionist counter was suddenly increased by IDR 200k, more expensive than offered on the phone just 30 minutes before.
I called the hotel beforehand, just to make sure there was at least a room available. I didn't use online booking apps, as my stay was of business purpose and it would be rational to apply a corporate rate... to no avail. Corporate rate does not apply to any LK hotel on weekends. The receptionists informed me that it was also because the saleswoman's duty perido is weekdays. Nevertheless, one receptionist was visionary enough to give me the salesoman's whatsapp number.
I caught the receptionists red-handed, as their faces blushed when I told them I made a call prior.
It was of utter disappointment, as the PO hotel who belongs to the same management offered corporate rate for the same period. Despite their lack of online hospitality (there were 4 phone numbers on PO's website; 2 landlines were not call-able, 2 whatsapp numbers were not call-able; whatsapp replies took them at least 1 hour), PO actually had corporate rate offered.
There was even a worse experience. On Monday Jul 4th 2022, the saleswoman somehow responsed to my whatsapp. While I was exploring the town in the morning by 9 o'clock, we somehow secured a deal on a corporate rate for the extension of my stay (1 night) - as advised by one receptionist the day prior. The saleswoman, who came by the name Emiya or Emilia, texted that there'll be a letter to sign on the reception desk so as to validate the corporate rate. Alas, by 11 o'clock such letter was none to be found and the receptionist told me to wait because they will (again) confirm to the saleswoman. But then the saleswoman called my wife and accused me not reading her whatsapp. This impudent sales texted by 11.20 that the corporate rate could not be applied as it was high season. It was clear that the receptionists and the saleswoman were not well-trained. The saleswoman didn't say anything if she was unsure before.
My rant above could be an outlier. However, you could definitely try staying in this hotel to actually experience a CHEAPSKATE service. Yes it is a 4-star hotel, but they don't serve from the heart as the amenities were built to fulfill the bare minimum requirements.
Molds can be easily found anywhere. The elevator buttons were not tactile and not reliable. The breakfast was mediocre, but the black coffee was good. Pay attention, as there was even a sign stating that any excesss food will be of fine. The gym was only dependable for treadmill activity, stationary biking, or the elliptical. The weights were only dumbbells and there's no facility to do pulling movements properly.
The parking alleys were so narrow that one can easily find scratches from bumpers hitting the walls. Definitely a big no if you're not an expert driver.
Lastly, the room was just average for the price. The noise reduction was substandard, as the road noise was continuously pounding my eardrums and the alarm from a guest next door disturbed me a couple times.
Everyone's experience is subjective, so digest the paragraphs above with a HUGE grain of salt. I took no photo so you could prove it yourself.
