We did not stay at this place as the part owner has other accommodations more suited to families or non local tourists. The boat ride was fast and the room was clean and had its own bathroom. The meals were lovely and I would certainly ask about Raul's homestay option if a family or not a local. Their close connection with RIMBA Ecolodge is also very handy.

Amazing place. You can organise incredible boat and snorkling trips and arrange to stay at Jophira Beach which is paradise. So much nature surrounding your private beach, such friendly workers and the best snorkling! We saw 3 reef sharks, so many colourful coral fish, turtles and on our boat trip back we saw over 10 dolphins and saw them jumping out of the water to chase fish and then a grey-headed eagle swooping down to steal the catch, it's what dreams are made of! It's totally worth it!

I never stayed in the homestay so I won't do any comments on the rooms or so! But I put a five star because the grand son living there is always helpful with anyone who wants to go anywhere around.... This guy is so nice that at a time, while I was waiting for the boat to Rimba Ecolodge, he invited me to have a rest in a room. Two years later, he woke up and helped me again at 7 am, as I had a flight at 9, and arranged a taxi for me (250.000IDR) to reach the minang kabau airport.
This guy is definitely a good one when you need help.

Bungus village and Merak island are wonderful! In Merak the snorkelling is pretty nice if you are beginner. There is a very nice shelter, it's beautiful and you are alone.
The team of the Tintin is great. They are very nice, speak really good English, a bit of French and they are really cool and fun.
I would advice to anybody to stay at Jophira on the Island. It's look really nice, very relax and the nasi goreng is great.
For the bad points :
- the rooms at the Tintin are really crapy. The bathrooms are quite disgusting (should be cleaned sometimes...) the fans need to be clean to be usable. But the place with the private beach is great.
- the boat was two hours late to go and two hours late to back so we had to pay 150 000 a bus to go back to Padang cause no more regular bus after 3pm. This is not professional for the price of 1 million for transport... Apparently due to a problem with the tides ; so it would be better to tell the people at what time you can come instead of asking them at what time they want to leave. It's nicer when you know the real timing so you can do something else instead of waiting two hours (saying every 10 minutes we leave in 10 minutes ^^...)
Overall really good experience, beautiful place, beautiful people. Thank you guys.

Owner has beach Losman Jophira with bungalows, where you can go from this place. Accommodation here is not in best conditions, but good for overnight stay if you need to wait for boat to beach. Owner is very friendly, and he offered me stay in Jophira in tent for really good price, when bungalows were not available. Good rating because of good owner, price and for quick transport to Jophira beach as well, otherwise this place is for 2 ⭐

The best experience in Indonesia, running for really good people, Raoul and his brothers will let you know how is a real paradise in their country.

really bad. We booked and paid a room via airbnb but the room was already booked. Tintin refused to refund us. After 2 month of discussion, finally he accepts.
