For a state museum, this museum offers beyond my expectation. It has good overview of the West Nusa Tenggara history, cultures and crafts along with brief introduction to geology and wildlife. It is tourist friendly, every display comes with written information in english.

We had great experience here! we met Ibu Ayu and Ibu Sueni from archiving department, they are very helpful, and informative. We are thankful to met them, as we need to gather information about Sumbawa woven textile.

Totally worth visiting!

Wonderful regional museum - highly recommended for an introduction to the geology, history and culture of NTB.

Interesting local artefacts and cultural information. Majority of explanations available in English.

People with an interest in geology may enjoy the dedicated section of the museum.

May wish to pack a hand held fan, the air is quite stagnant in the museum. Can get quite warm.

Knowing the history of Lombok island is something you have to do. Travelling is not just about beautiful beach and mountain area, but history is also interesting. There’s a local guide who explain. Some culture in the past like origine of writting and language affected by Arabic and India was amusing.

The Nusa Tenggara Barat Museum is one of the interesting places to visit in Mattaram. The true colors of people in this province can be seen inside, with detailed descriptions and nice artifacts.
