This is not just a hotel to stay at, it is learning about colonialism and the history of the 30th century. Built as a five-storey luxurious villa at around 1900 it was the highest building of Indonesia for a long time.
The wonderful ornamentation of Belgian art nouveau tiles, an elevator, exceptional glass works, flooring and wood works of the original villa is still adorable.
The upper two floors are closed since many decades, because of fear of ghosts and lack of need, I guess. Formerly a villa standing in nature with a vista on Mount Arjuna and Mount Bromo, today it stands close to a highway.
Sleep here to experience all these layers. It is an unforgettable and unique place.

Despite its infamous reputation of being a haunted hotel, it was actually a good place to rest. The hotel was squeaky clean, room is enermous (we stayed at the deluxe room) it could easily fit 4 queen sized bed , with very high ceilling and big windows.
You might feel a bit overwhelmed if staying here with just 2 person. Alhamdulillah they allowed 5 of us (3 adults + 2 kids) to stay in one room only by paying extra bed.

If you travel in large numbers then i suggest you do the same.

Yes at first glance when entering the lobby and looking at the colonial building with its enermous empy spaces it looked a bit eerie but there's nothing to worry about.
No strange sighting or noises detected during our stay there. (Just be sure to make Do'a and prayer upon entering the room, before laying on the bed and before sleep as prophet Muhammad ﷺ suggested.)

Wether it is actually spooky or feels hounted it depends on one's preception /prejudice.

Its also located in the main road, next to a busy market and close to the train station so its easy to get by and look for food.

The hospitality here now are so bad, it used to had a really good hospitality, but the new receptionist are so bad, they be spying on us everytime we walk around like we wanna do something bad! He is so unpolite even when my friend ask how long he has been work at niagara, he reply it with in very unpolite way, We doesn’t even using our phone but they became too much maybe because the tiktok thing, THE MOST BAD HOSPITALITY IN TOWN????????????????????????

Niagara Hotel is a colonial-era hotel located in Lawang District, Malang City.
This ancient hotel, which was built in 1918, still sturdy now. Some parts of the building look old and unattended, but other parts of this hotel are still in good maintenance services. Base on the fact that to run a business an ancient building really costly the management decide only to operate 2 stories of 5 they have.

I love this place and been there to stay for a couple of days. This place is nice, comfy, and the point plus you get is the experiences of riding a time machine from the modern era to an ancient era and back to the future at the time you check out.

This hotel is selling the concept of uniqueness and classic nuance from a century ago, you may find mosaic windows, old wooden stairs, huge doors in all rooms entrance, and a high ceiling. Inside the building, you might feel like being in the one Dutch colonial house in the old time.

As a Professional Photographer, this is the best location for a photographer or cinema maker to use this place for the movie or pictures using the bedrooms, stairs, and all parts of the hotel that real old and antique properties as a background and shooting location.

my nostalgia hotel ..i'd been stay in this hotel when i was in elementary school at 6th grade..
this hotel had a good memories because i stay with my family and also cousins and grandpa, grandma ..i felt so happy

this hotel was made a good old memory for my grandma when she was young and became a nurse for taking care soldiers who injured..this hotel became an urgent hospital too..

but me and my cousins had a great spooky experience in here..the hotel is spooky ..we saw a ghost in the lift ..is like a noni belanda..well its a great and scary experience we've ever had

Beautiful heritage building despite of the urban legend. Try to looked closely to the amazing architecture. The architect,Fritz Joseph Pinedo had to built this building for 15 years. Once that was one of skyscraper at South East Asia
