As airports go, what do you expect? A runway, terminal, planes and passengers. Well, you get this and oh so much more here. I am happy I flew to this airport, just for the experience. The runway is short enough but sufficient for 737s and A320s to land. The apron is small, it maybe can accommodate 3 or 4 airplanes. There is a spanking new terminal building. Which is not being used. Right beside it is this picturesque terminal building that could be on a postcard. It's a brick building, has two luggage carrousels and when you exit the front you overlook sugarcane fields. It reminded me of landing in the Cayman Islands many years ago.
Taxi connections into town are cheap and readily available. Tourists like myself are not ripped off. And there seems to be an abundance of staff at this airport. Quite what they all do I have no idea, but they're there and all dressed up.
Well worth a trip.

Small airport with only 3 gates. It open 9.30 in the morning, so if you arrive before it, you need to wait outside. For the waiting room gate 1-3 there’s no toilet there so make sure you go to toilet after you take the escalator. If you want to buy food or snack you will find small shop near the escalator (right after the check in counters).

This is our first time visiting Abdul Rahman Saleh Airport in Malang, small place but friendly atmosphere, clean toilets and friendly staff service. There is a canteen or culinary at the exit. We took a taxi to get to the Hotel where we stayed in Batu city, the driver was friendly and didn't hesitate to give us the information we needed. Thank you Malang!

This airport took the name of one of the heroes of the air force during the war to defend independence, air traffic at this airport is not too busy when compared to airport flight schedules in other big cities and this airport is also used by air force flights considering there is an air base... Generally terminal in this airport was quiet, neat and clean...

Not too big airport. Many facilities should be improved for better (i.e : toilet). Limited restaurant here. Limited flight depart from here.

This airport is located around 40 minutes from Malang city center (depending on traffic condition). You may only take taxi to travel to this airport as there is no other travelling options. Airport is quite small and very limited choices of Fu0026B outlets. There is one executive lounge at the departure area. Arrival hall looks very outdated as this building was the old airport building. The airport serves daily flight to Jakarta by Garuda, Citilink and Batik Air. If you arrive at this airport, you may only take taxi to your destintation. A
Taxi queue is quite terrible if numerous flights arrive at the same timing.

The airport has improved a lot. It's much more enjoyable to be here now. What impressed me most was the toilets. They're clean and quite spacious.
