Not the Best, But Worth to Try
Visiting Jalangkote Lasinrang never be planned before. After found a lot of shop close during Ied Mubarak (much worsen, extended to Sunday), my brother began to find out what store that open because antoher Jalangkote seller that would be visited didn't open during Ied Mubarak. On earlier morning, my brother saw empty box from Jalangkote Lasinrang in trash can, indirectly confirmed that Jalangkote Lasinrang open.
Afraid of product stale during journey return to hometown (due to ingredients that contain vegetables), finally decided to purchase only a few jalangkote.
Apart of jalangkote, there were several fried snack too. But me and my parent only interested to buy jalangkote only. All jalangkote made at same place so visitor can see process making of jalangkote.
Physically similar with pastel, two distinguished differences can be found. Thicker skin and addition of bean sprout. The taste quite similar with pastel. Part edge of jalangkote quite hard. Not the best jalangkote but still worth to try.
Inside of the store very uncomfortable and very hot (more than outside road), so much better buy take away.
Coincidentally, I met with owner (of course, as her face exactly same with portrait of her placed inside the store and on banner)! The owner even offered me to eat at the store.
Be careful for those first time ever visit Jalangkote Lasinrang. There is a fake one (according to the owner, the fake one used to be official branch, then abruptly ended the partnership after caught up violating some aspect of agreement, so no longer official anymore). The real one is on the left of Lasinrang road and the real owner can be seen controlling her business.
