I had a bad experience staying here.
I stayed here for 4 days (17/5 - 21/5 2022) but there are just too many disappointments for me to ignore:
1. I had 2 times unpleasant breakfasts (on 18 u0026 20). The hotel served Pepes Ikan on 18 and Chicken porridge on 20 but the taste were just too salty (even for me who has a high tolerance for saltiness).
Also the side dish options are always unmatch with the rice. (They served nasi kebuli the side dish were opor ayam and ikan pepes)
2. The bathroom inside my room was very dirty (they didn't clean up the ice glass and the wastafel was very slippery). The room service cleaned up after I complained on my second day staying.
The wardrobe was also dusty and there was a food leftover inside of the wardrobe.
The glass to balcony was also very dirty.
3. The covid protocol is unbelievably bad (only sometimes the security remind the guest to wear mask, clean up the hand and check the temperature).
They don't fill the hand sanitizer regularly at the elevator (the hand sanitizer is left insufficient).
Even at the restaurant, the cleaning staff didn't disinfect the table after the customer use it.
4. The staff at the restaurant didn't immediately clean up the tables and the leftovers after the customer finished their meals.
Even on the evening when a customer took a meal to their room, the leftover was end up uncleaned until the whole night (I wonder if the staff paid attention to the hallway CCTV
5. They charge 150k for an airport service which doesn't make any sense because the online car ride hailing and the taxi only cost up to 60-70k to the airport. (I had stayed at Aston Jambi and they took free service for it).
6. There was a customer asking for the manager in charge in the day I checked out (21/5) but the front office won't take him to the manager with so many reasons.
7. The administration took long, we have to pay 200k upfront guarantee when we checked in.
I paid using my debit card, they didn't give the receipt, it turns out we need the receipt to claim the money back so I have to fill in a paper form to claim the money (why does an Aston-class hotel still use a paper for administration?)
All in all, this is the last time I'd be staying at this hotel. I wonder where do they get their stars from ????
For you who want to stay at Makassar I would recommend staying at Novotel or Grand Mercure. Their room might be slightly pricy but their staff are professional.
