Our tourist guide brought us to this place. Unfortunately the civet cats are not “wild” as they would like you to believe. They are held in small cages behind the shop. According to the owners these caged civets are not used for the production of the Luwak coffee. Why then?

There’s two selections of coffee which are the Robusta and Arabica, very nice staffs provided us with a thorough explanation of how the coffee is made and brewed.
I’m giving only three stars as I don’t support animals labouring, the Luwaks are kept inside the cages behind the shop which I find it saddening.

You can see the animal that makes the coffee. They said they feed them only with fruit but i doubt so if you look to other cages. Did not try the coffee, neither buy it.

I'd only ever heard of this type of coffee and these animals on TV before so it was a pleasant surprise to actually get to meet one of these strange nervous furry creatures. The Luwak itself is very cute and curious, the coffee we drank from its poop was also very nice. A great part of my tour.

A cool, quick way to learn about how luwak coffee is processed and try a small cup if you'd like. The guide was very personable.
They keep luwaks in cages to see. According to the guide those are only for viewing and breeding (to be released into the wild), not for making coffee. And they are allowed out of the cages at night. I'm skeptical but would like to believe them.

POOP COFFEE ☕️ the most expensive coffee in the world!
.
So I finally tried Kopi Luwak - coffee bean droppings from the cute furry “Luwak” civets. Though I don’t drink black coffee, Luwak black coffee tastes pretty smooth with a tinge of a light caramel after-taste.
