If you would like to have first trekking experience I really recommended mt Andong. The trek not really difficult and there's already canteen on top which is very nice for campaign there. Morning view was amazing with the city view and another mountain around.

I took the route from Pesona Alam. This route is less desired. There is no particular Basecamp. Just a narrow parking area with a ticketing post that is usually open only on the weekend. The transit house is next to a small mosque. You need to pay 6.000 per person and 10.000 for a motorbike. A bit pricey for the parking.

It took me 1 hour and a half to reach the summit. There are 3 main hills you need to hike up. All beautiful. Breathtaking scenery and landscape. Be early because usually after 9 the fog/mist will block the view. Bringing tracking pole is recommended.

At the summit (Andong) you can go to the warung. They sale hot drink (tea coffee) mineral water and simple meal such as noodle and fried Tempe.

Camping during the weekend is not suggested because it would be very crowded and a bit noisy. The dust at the summit is unbearable.

Not too tall, everybody can climb this mountain, take around 2 hours to get to the top. You can buy some snack on the top because there is some mini snack shop there. Very great scenery on the top.

ive been here for several times, best Mountain to climb, fast, it doesn't take so long to hike, fast route, and save passage to climb.

BREATHTAKING SIGHT. I was one of the lucky ones to enjoy this peak when it's barely known, there's zero garbage and no food stalls yet, just a zenith orbitted by other summits back in 2014. This mountain is first hikers friendly. Just please, as you come down this place don't forget to bring your own trash along so we don't have to see other kind of mountain up here in the future. Great place to hike and feel the fresh air, the views was also nice, there were food vendors at the top of the mountain so you can ascent and descent at the same day, it only take 2 hours to reach the top and the track is easy and well maintained.

Mount Andong is a mountain in Salatiga, Central Java. The height is 2056 meters above sea level. Travel from basecamp to peak for 2 hours. When we arrived at the top we could see Mount Ungaran, Mount Merbabu and Mount Merapi. I have climbed this mountain 4 times, and I might climb this mountain again next time. Because the scenery is really amazing.
