We had classical ice kopi and an amazing green tee latte. The owner was really nice and the drinks yummi. You can also buy freshly roasted beans there.

First and foremost, the quality of the coffee is superb. Having a roastery setup and decent product branding, told me that Minak is serious about coffee.

We serendipitously found ourselves at Minak for lunch while we were accompanying a relative who was taking a hired tour of Banyuwangi. I remember seeing the name come up on my earlier Google searches for specialty coffee in Banyuwangi. I had a cappuccino that rivaled my favourites in Bali namely Seniman and Revolver.

We bought two bags of their Megasari roast (Arabica, Java origin). Since we were traveling, we asked that the beans be ground. The young barista that helped us even re-heat sealed the bags without asking--nice touch.

So coffee quality and service was there. Ambience was lacking. Minak is tucked away in a remote and tiny corner of a food court-like setup that's geared towards bused-in tourists. My wife and I were the only ones in a group of 50 that sampled and purchased coffee at the time. I think Minak could do better with product placement. I think the brand is solid enough to be on their own to cater to hip Indonesia coffee aficionados and promote Indonesian single origin.

Beverages and snacks are great, the atmosphere is nice, the baristas are very gracious. They even provide games to be played with friends. Worth to visit!
