It’s located really really really really deep in the village, very bumpy road, very cold, very friendly, very welcoming, very cozy. Each room has no Air Conditioner but no worry. Fan only is more than enough. The host is very welcoming from the very beginning until we go home. They served fried rice and fried noddle with veggie, fried chicken, and fried egg with affordable price. The host ask us to join him to his clove and corn fields. He even give us oranges fresh from the tree. The bedroom is small but comfortable and for bathroom is so spacious but there is no heather and the water very cool. There is a story behind the homestay and they will gladly to tell you about it. It’s very recommended place to stay before hiking mount Ijen. (They will ask you if you wanna rent Jeep to Paltuding (gate to hiking) and if you want to use guide service).

Such a great experience. We booked rather last minute and didnt know what to expect. We were so we'll taken care of by the owners - truly like part of their family. The homestay accomodations are simple but they have everything you need for heading to all sites in the area. The location is beautiful and quiet and perfect launching point for hiking Ijen. Don't miss the waterfalls in surrounding areas as well.

The homestay itself is beautiful! Everything was built by hand. I had a day to kill and as it's located in a village away from everything (but closer to Ijen), I hung around and got to know the family. I saw the guy carving the wood to make the staircase rails, helped lay the soil for them to make the cement stepping stones, played with the 5 year old boy, and got to know the other local children who showed me a nice pine forest with tree houses. Really relaxed atmosphere and good food. Very safe area as everyone in the surrounding homes is related/family. The owner Ali was very helpful and patient with me when he picked me up in Banyuwangi and my ATM card wasn't working, so waited an hour late at night for me to get it fixed with the bank when he had to work in a few hours. I felt awful!

Great budget stay close to Ijen.
The family can offer you the full package of food / accommodation / guide / transportation etc.

The full day package is relatively expensive, but they take you also to the waterfalls and hot springs (take your bathing suite ;-) ) with a private driver. Optional they also teach you how to roast your own coffee and you can take some home too.

Our highlight was that a friend had her birthday during the stay and they organized the cake with candles etc.

We enjoyed it a lot and the Nasi Goreng is one of the best you will find in Indonesia.

If you are on a tight budget, just ask to take you to Ijen and do the walk yourself. A guide is not really needed as the way is easy to find and safe.

Just when going to Ijen, be either one of the first to be there or go at a later time (you won’t see the blue fire though), as there are HUNDREDS of people going down with you, which is really killing the atmosphere.

A little out of the way up a very bumpy track but the hosts were lovely providing meals and a well priced tour to Mt. Ijen with Adi (miner who lives there!) Rooms basic but comfortable

Absolutely loved our stay here. Ali is great and very helpful. Food was good and we got a great tour guide (Sugi)! Couldn't recommend enough.

Home stay got a nice vibe.. But still not the best.. Access road very2 narrow n unpaved, food they prepare are so-so, good point are they near ijen rest area
