I'm giving this place a five star review, not because they are truly 5 star compared to many of the amazing places you could stay in Bali, but rather because they are way above and beyond anything I would expect in such an isolated location. A truly delightful place to stay if your passing through Bunyuwangi, particularly if you're after somewhere that is truly pet friendly with caring and friendly staff.
When we stayed the place was running at half mast due to covid so we didn't get to experience the full range of services the place has to offer. We hope to get to try what I can imagine would be lovely meals in their beautiful restaurant, given the standard of everything else in the place.
This mornings walk for 4klms up the gently sloping track through the villages and forest behind the villa was truly enchanting,. Huge shady trees and the enticing buzz of local honey bees. This was followed by a refreshing swim in their beautiful pool while the super friendly staff prepared our eggs for breakfast. They even helped by reheating some Ayam Betutu we had brought across from Bali, which combined with a great americano from their beautiful espresso machine, made for a perfect start to the day!. Spicy spicy food and perfect coffee, now that's living, what a great way to wake up and start the day!
Some minor tips for management:
-Please advertise more clearly both that your pet friendly and that you have great coffee! There are so few places offering those two things anywhere near you, that its a captive market. We nearly didn't find you and had to ring half a dozen times before we got an answer.
-there are a few minor maintenance issues that could do with some attention but honestly not much given we arrived in the middle of a pandemic
- your coffee was amazing but sadly no milk as I'm a latte lover. I totally understand as we are in the middle of a pandemic so its hard to maintain stock with low occupancy. Maybe the trick would be to freeze the milk in smallish portions of a few hundred mils then defrost it in a microwave when guests come. To be honest though a tad of promotion and your coffee shop could stand on uts own! As it was great coffee and great service
-final tip, maybe high pressure hose some surfaces down as stone paving gets a bit slippery when not used a lot.
Overall a lovely place, lovely staff, totally recommended
