I joined IEDUC because it was recommended by my office so that we could be accepted to study abroad. I, along with six other friends, ended up taking intensive classes to study IELTS for 5 days / week, 8 am - 5 pm, for ten weeks.

At first, I thought it would be hard, but I was wrong because the IEDUC learning process was so fun. The mentor who teaches us provides very enjoyable guidance. The learning method is impressive, and the material is updated; there are many tricks on how to work on IELTS questions. A discussion class was given as an extra curriculum by inviting previous students to discuss working on IELTS questions so that I became more confident in working on IELTS questions.

As a result, for 6 of my classmates, one in Czech, one in Japan, one in Taiwan, me and 1 other friend in Malaysia, and two others are still looking for the next scholarship.

Thank you, IEDUC, for being a great partner to make our dream of continuing school come true. We are very grateful.

I enrolled for an IELTS preparation in July 2020. The course price was about Rp. 5.000.000. Now, I'm going to pay my due to share my experiences with IEDUC. For disclaimer: the purpose is only to share my own experiences during my time with IEDUC; it may not represent the whole organization, but it can be taken as considerations for those who are looking for an IELTS preparation course.
- Staff u0026 Facilities: I don't have a vague impression, they did try to help with anything that needs to be done, although one time, I had homework for writing an essay since I was planning to take a CBT, I did on my laptop then printed it out, one of the staff members refused to accept it and asked me to re-write on the paper. For facilities, the bathrooms u0026 classrooms are clean and comfortable.
- Handbook and material: Bad, we got copies of some old IELTS books such as Cambridge 4, Cambridge 8, for the handbook. (not sure about the copyright tho).
- Teacher and Teaching process: All of my teachers are Indonesian, and yes, they have good English skills, but is it the only requirement to become good English teachers. I don't think so. I don't know if they are certified to be teachers; all I know is that some do not have an English education background. The learning process was old-fashioned and not sufficient (in my view). I will break down on every session.
a. Reading u0026 Listening classes: practicing of the previous tests, in a real-time manner, and after that the teacher would give the answers with limited explanations, since the course is only 1,5 hrs per session, it took 60-75 minutes to do the tests. Is it worth to pay for it? Meanwhile, you can find the same approach on Youtube for free.
b. Speaking class: Two teachers conducted this class, one of them spoke 80% Bahasa during the session, and we are in a speaking course for English, right, shouldn't be we speak English? Another teacher, she used almost 90% English, it was good. However, I found her bit "self-oriented" talked a lot about her personal life and sometimes about her previous students. I found it is unprofessional; in the end, we are still the clients of IEDUC. How could somebody talk about bad things about your previous clients to your current clients? One time, she told me that her last student got 5.5 for Speaking like the way I speak because I did not answer the question right away, I tend to talk using hook sentences before addressing the questions. Little bit background about me, I used to live overseas for the past five years, I lived in Japan, Brunei, and Congo before. I'm working for a multinational company that required me to use English and French professionally u0026 daily. I always think Speaking is my strongest point for IELTS, maybe not perfect. Still, it was good enough. Being told that it destroyed my motivation, I was very close to giving up on IELTS and my goal. It is right, we need feedback for Speaking, but finding a tutor is not the only consideration. It is a must to find a tutor that gives you feedback, but it has to be constructive, not destructive.
c. Writing: In writing task 1, I will give credits since I did learn a lot; in fact, I will shout out to Ms. Xenia, one of the best teachers during my time in IEDUC. In contrast, WT 2 only talked about the essays' structure and showed a sample of essays, which can be found literally on google. In my opinion, the most difficult challenge in IELTS WT2 is not "How to write" but "What to write". I was expecting to do more brainstorming about IELTS-related topics.
After joined for two weeks, I might say it was a depressing experience then i quitted. I chose to self-study, and I sat in for the IELTS exam last week, and I got an overall band score of 7(R:7.5 L:7.5 W:6, and S:7). I was disappointed with the whole experience with IEDUC; they should provide better services for that kind of price. Hopefully, IEDUC will be better in the future.

In sha Allah as early as August 2018 this will be IEDUC's head office catering for all classes including IELTS and German.

May not be as spacious as the older venue but will be with better facilities and still with the same quality of teaching.
