Belida fish is the best quality fish for pempek, crispy and tastier than other types of fish. This belida fish is now very rare, therefore the price is very expensive, belida fish that live in fresh water are now increasingly rare.
In ancient times, belida fish were famous for being easily found in the waters of the South Sumatra river. If you use the belida fish, the pempek will be whiter. The aroma of the fish is also not so strong, and more meaty. Pempek 88 is one of the increasingly rare pempek shop still using the belida fish. The taste is awesome ????

Legendary pempek. A lil bit overpriced, Rp 5000 for small-sized pempek. Only for takeaway, cannot dine in. Must try their adaan and pempek panggang! Very tasty and delicous

I can't stress the awesomeness of this pempek enough. It is simply the most amazing pempek out there.

Lampung should be famous for its pempek as nothing, and i repeat, nothing in palembang even comes close to this

They use Belida, which unfortunately increasingly rare, as their ingredients. This is what set them apart from other pempek shops that use Tengiri as their ingredient

They're meaty and chewy without any fishy after taste

For those who are not familiar with pempek, pempek is a type of Fishcake. Forget every fishcake you've ever had and prepare your mind to be blown away

This is by far the best pempek, and i dare say this, in the whole wide world

It said that they use Belida fish only.
I forget to take the picture, but the size of their pempek is so small. I like their pempek Bakar though, the fillings is not crazily salty.

Price for 1 pcs is Rp6500 but the size is less than half of regular pempek you buy at another store.

Tbh, I don't really undestand the different for this pempek belida fish hype thing, because I try pempek at so many places (Pempek123, Selamet, Candy, etc..) and to me, the other pempek that use tenggiri also taste as good.
Some are a bit better than the other, but in general they are all taste good with great quality.

Best pempek I have tried in indonesia. The use the belida fish, which is rare and expensive. But the resulting pempek is a very chewy pempek that cannot be replicated with any other fish. Order the adaan, lenjer, and the papaya pempek fried. They are the best.

The one claiming to use the real iwak belido, but the pempek is often too hard for the authentic palembangese standard..
