The place is clean and well maintained. The road to go there is relatively fine, a normal car will easily get you there. This place is not a zoo and not a bear conservation. This place is aimed to take care of bear that is unable to be released to the jungle because of some reasons. You can also adopt cat in this place, they also babysit some abandoned cats.

This place is really awesome. You will see a high standard of enclosure without paying. You can see LAMIN, a traditional house of Kalimantan. There are Cat House that have a lot of cats that you can adopt. So many images that provide us information about the nature. The place is so green and fresh.

It is a perfect place for weekend getaway with family and educate the child about the nature of sun bear. Hilarious!

It's a nice place to go especially on weekend. The place were well maintained and there is convenient parking lot as well for cars and bikes. Unfortunately the road to the conservatory obviously need to be repaired. You don't need to pay the entrance fee just some donation you want.

There isn't only sun bears that they taken care of, but also cats and birds. You can even pet the cats when you go to the office building nearby the cat's shelter. Lovely place to go! ????????

It is one of must visit places in Balikpapan. Sun Bear Conservation. This place quite far from town about 23 KM. The entrace is free (latest visit 5/8/18) . You just need to pay for the parking lot (cheap). In this place there are several Gazebo that made from Ulin woods. You can rest here after looking around and you can use this gazebo to held an event since the gazebobis quite large. You can see and meet the sun bear at 9 am and 3 pm. They also sell some sun bear souvenir like tshirt etc (i dont know the price). The toilet is clean. Btw they also have Cat house. Warning: there are Dog hanging around, you need to caution for fierce dog.

one of the place you need to visit while in Balikpapan, this is the sunbear conservation which so educative and relaxing.
there is some rest houses to relax or have good times with family or friends.
the best time to be here is at 2-4 pm that feeding time for sun bear and you can see cute and healthy sun bears from above without interupting them while they eat.
there is also educative house to see and learn about sun bear. so awesome!

The golden hours are: 9 in the morning and 3 afternoon. Come at that time unless you want to miss the chance meeting those cute bears. No entrance fee, just help them running the enclosure by donate or buy souvenir from their shop.

The place was so nice but unfortunately I was not able to meet the Bear. No need to pay for entrance fee, we only give some donation after we entering the Bear Zone. In this place, you can adopt a cat as well and buy some t-shirt. No plastic bag there, they recycle newspaper into paperbag. Should visit that place next time.
