I have stayed at Taman Sari Beach Inn u0026 Hostel about 20 times. It has a great location, about 60 metres from the nightclub strip on Jalan Legian. Once you have closed the door to your room, you cannot hear any noise. It is about 300 metres from the beach.

The included breakfast is basic, but for a few Rupiah more, you can get whatever you want. I have never got Bali Belly from eating here. I even saw the kitchen pass a proper food inspection by the authorities.

My room and the sheets have always been clean. The swimming pool could do with a scrub, but I have had no problems swimming there.

This accommodation has had it's day.

PROS- good location (walking distance to everything)
big room
big comfy bed
every room has a private balcony/patio area

CONS- does NOT look like pictures advertised.
green swimming pool (the staff did nothing to attempt to clean the pool after several guests complained)
room had a damp smell
room was dark and dirty
female staff were very lackluster and borderline rude.

note: the included breakfast has 4 options - toast, egg and toast, fried rice or noodles. due to the laziness of the staff, for the first 4 days they only served us 2 slices of toast and we had no idea about the other options.

a little bit of TLC would greatly improve this place. overall, I understand that you get what you pay for. and we are not fussy when it comes to accommodation. but there are WAY better options in the area for a similar price. I'd give this one a hard no.

The hotel does not correspond at all to the photos. We found bed bugs, asked them to change bedroom as it was too late to find another hotel except they moved us to an unhealthy room. The ceiling was collapsing, they were stains all over the walls, the rooms were extremely dirty and moldy. We did not feel safe. The next day, after one of the worst night of our life, we had to fight to get a refund because yes we had to pay before the end of the stay which is pretty weird. We managed to get a refund of 3 nights out of the 4 that we had to spend there while in my opinion we clearly had to be refunded entirely. In France such hotels are closed immediately. False advertising. Aberrant.

I had to leave. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
I arrived there with some friends who I was backpacking with. As soon as I saw the room I decided to leave as the place was disgusting, so i asked reception for my money back (3 nights reservation) and they said no.
My friends decided to give it a try and stayed the night with the condition that the hotel changed the sheets of the beds (they clearly hadn't changed them in a while). My friends had to leave in the middle of the night because they were surrounded by bed bugs and termites. Absolutely disgusting. I'm posting pictures to prove this. Please do yourself a favour and do not stay here. I am not a picky person but this place was way worse than anything I've seen in a very long time, plus we ended up staying in an amazing hotel in the same street for just 10 euros a night, which was worth every cent (and way more).
Note: after a long complaint my friends managed to get our money back for 2 nights.

Smelling and dirty room.
I booked a non-smoking room but got a smoking.
Toilet sink was clogged and the lock did not work.
The pool was not clean.
Pictures online look way better than in reality.
They refuse refund even though he admits room is dirty. The receptionist said it was not his problem the room was dirty because the housekeeper wasn’t here.
The receptionist (Putu) could not provide the mangers number to complain.

Dorm room wasn't locked so the reception did not have to give keys to the people staying there. Also, no beddings and no toilet paper so be sure to bring your own. Everything seemed to be really old and a bit dilapidated. However, the room is cheap and the beds seem to be clean so the place is ok if you are only there for one night

This place is great for it's value and location. Comfortable beds, air-conditioned rooms, little balconies and a pool to swim in. This is where I stay every time I'm in Kuta. Just down the street from The Sky Lounge on Poppies 2.
