In the middle of busy Kuta a paradise oasis.
We booked it for the last night in Bali and we regrate we did not booked it for longer.
While the location is at the middle of busy Kuta, it is the best hotel we used in Bali (5 in total including a 7 start resort). Poppies passes them all by a long shot!!!
31 cottages in a gorgeous garden with a pool and jacuzzi. What can you ask more than that.
Stuff and service is exceptionally good and they are using the Poppies restaurant in front, which is exceptionally excellent too.

Yes, Kuta sucks. But if you are going to stay anywhere in the area, you would be crazy not to stay at poppies. Hands-down, the greatest old-school feel in the entire Kuta area.
Those mega resorts in Legian etc can't hold a candle to the quality or the vibe.
We have stayed at dozens and dozens of different places all around Bali, and this is one of our very favorites. Normally I wouldn't stay in Kuta more than a couple of days, but if I'm gonna stay at poppies, I'll happily stay five or six. The breakfast is absolutely outstanding, and the hospitality a second to none. Cute little cottages. Very quiet and serene.
Super romantic too.

Arrived here late at night after a hectic drive from Ubud. This spot was the haven we needed after a long day . I am not a big fan of crazy city life and Kuta is insanely hectic and busy . Coming to Poppies was the respite we desperately needed . It’s hard to believe that we are surrounded with city chaos in the well maintained peaceful oasis . We were offered a non alcoholic drink on arrival and our luggage was taken to the our room . We were give a tour of the room to point out the refrigerator that was hidden in the wall. As an American I was feeling from vintage 70s vibes - as though we were in a episode of the show, the Brady Bunch. The restroom is modern with new tiles and shower . The room is comfy and the slightly funky smell is mild and is due to the thatched roof. Did I say the the staff here are amazing! Breakfast is included and it’s HUGE and delicious . We ate dinner late at their restaurant and it was decent but nothing to come to especially for the price . I am glad we stayed here for just a couple of nights. The plan is to go for a swim at their gorgeous pool.
Con: the dark alley aka “lane” to get here . There should be better lighted for patrons and the drivers. Poppies should have brighter light so it’s easy to find
Pro: peace! Great staff! Large Bali style room- lovely cottage on spacious grounds - restaurant on site . Awesome sound system in the room.

I love Poppies and have stayed her for many years. Love the cottages and the pool is beautiful. The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and I look forward to seeing them each holiday. I have enjoyed Poppies Restaurant for decades, well before staying in the cottages. I still have my very favourite dishes. So glad to return after travel bans during the covid pandemic.

Poppies is by far the nicest place in all of Kuta. I'm here for the first time and I'm totally amazed by the beautiful garden and the attention to detail. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is from the 1980's it is in modern condition.

A real insider tip! We will be back ❤️

In our opinion, staying at this hotel even just for one night, it is the reason to visit Kuta in itself. Yes, despite we are not fans of such vacation options which Kuta suggests, we found Poppies Bali as one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. We don’t want to copy previous glowing reviews, we just want to join them, confirming that they all true and adding that Poppies Bali is an incredible hotel, where we want to come back (but not to Kuta itself, haha). The only little drawback I would call a small parking space. On the other hand, there is a lovely car attendant on the spot, so he’ll easily help you to park your car, so this tiny drawback didn’t influence our staying at all. Anyway, if you consider getting this place by car, we recommend renting a small car: it will be easier for you not only reach Poppies Bali but get around Bali, either.

Loved Poppies. Even though the area is a bit odd and off a tiny street, once you enter the hotel gate, you find yourself in a mini oasis. Very nice place, good room and beautiful pool
