In 2019, we booked a stay at Jays Villas for 2020 through booking.com.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 and government restrictions we were unable to travel. Our booking was refundable until the day before travel and we emailed them to cancel. They asked if we could please try a credit until the end of 2020 first to see how long the restrictions would be in place, and because we love Bali so much we agreed to try that first.
At the end of 2020 the restrictions were still in place, with no end in sight so we emailed again and asked for a refund, at which stage we were told they would not give us a refund and they changed our booking date on booking.com to look like we had already traveled, therefore forfeiting our opportunity to cancel and obtain our refund through the app.
We have now lost $700AUD and Jays Villas are refusing to refund our money.
Very disappointed in the customer service and definitely would not recommend staying at a place that steals customers money through deceit.
