Unfortunately the doctor gave the wrong diagnosis and prescription. I went to the appointment complaining or ear pain, the doctor checked my ears and had me pay for ear irrigation. She didn’t speak much English but she claimed that there was pus in my ears, and since I’m not a doctor, I agreed with her and the diagnosis (ear infection). She prescribed an antibiotic and antihistamine.
Unfortunately, the pain became worse so I went to Siloam hospital to see an ear nose throat specialist. Turns out it was tonsillitis. I don’t think the doctor at Canggu Medical actually checked my throat. I didn’t have throat pain but the doctor at Siloam could see my tonsils were inflamed and red. The antibiotics prescribed did not work because I have a history of tonsillitis and my body is now immune to the type of antibiotic the doctor prescribed. Since they don’t really ask about medical history, that was bound to happen.
The ENT prescribed much stronger antibiotics and also suggested tonsil removal surgery because this is my 10th throat infection in approx 10 years.
I have now finally learnt my lesson (as this happened at Prime Plus in canggu as well). If I ever need a doc for anything moving forwards I’ll book directly with Siloam and see a specialist. You get what you pay for unfortunately.
